Notes are a common term used by perfumers when describing the fragrance of a certain essential oil or blend of oils.  The notes are similar to those used in creating music; when top, middle and bass notes are combined to perfection you have created chords of harmony....a beautiful concerto.     I like to think of essential oils as musical instruments, with each playing an important part of the story I try to capture in my blends, and like a good book... a finely crafted scent is hard to forget.   In simple terms... man, that smells good!!
